Profile

I am a research assistant in theoretical physics at BRAC University, where I completed a B.Sc. in Physics with a minor in Mathematics. My interests lie in nonperturbative quantum field theory, especially gauge theories, confinement and screening, and generalized symmetries.

Research

Current research

Extra-dimensional axion constructions and axion quality (December 2025–present). As part of a BRAC University research grant on time-dependent backgrounds in string theory, I examine extensions of a five-dimensional compactification model and whether stabilization of an extra-dimensional modulus can preserve the suppression of symmetry-breaking contributions to the axion potential. Two-dimensional conformal field theory (September 2026–present). Through an ICTP Physics Without Frontiers internship, I study conformal symmetry, radial quantization, the Virasoro algebra and bootstrap methods, with the longer-term goal of understanding Schwarzian dynamics in sectors of two-dimensional CFTs.

Education

B.Sc. in Physics, Minor in Mathematics, BRAC University, 2026. Undergraduate dissertation: “From Local Operators to Extended Objects: Higher-Form Symmetries and Axion Quality.”

Research Experience

Research Assistant, BRAC University (December 2025–present). BRAC University Research Seeds Grant Initiative (BRACURSGI25014); supervisor: Prof. Mahbubul Alam Majumdar; subproject on extra-dimensional axion quality with collaborator Ahmed Rakin Kamal. Research Intern, ICTP Physics Without Frontiers: Physics for Bangladesh (September 2026–present). Mentor: Somnath Porey; study of two-dimensional conformal field theory and Schwarzian theory.

Selected Achievements

Research Assistant on the BRAC University Research Seeds Grant Initiative (BRACURSGI25014). Research Intern, ICTP Physics Without Frontiers: Physics for Bangladesh.

Other information

Undergraduate dissertation supervisor: Prof. Syed Hasibul Hassan Chowdhury (BRAC University). The dissertation developed a systematic account of higher-form symmetries and extended charged operators and explored applications to axion quality and the strong CP problem.
